Today we have been wondering about whether or not to continue with our monthly TulStig round-up Newsletter. It has been going for 15 years now and we really enjoy writing it and sending it out across the world to over 60 readers. However, we have noticed recently that feedback and follow up comments are becoming less and less. Also my new laptop doesn't have 'Publisher' installed on it so it'd cost a few pennies to buy that, as I prefer to sit in the garden and write now that the warmer days are here.
Is this because people are reading the blog instead, and have more regualr contact through Facebook and other social networks? Or has the Newsletter run its course? Is it time to put it to bed for one last time? We write the newsletter because we like to share our monthly goings on, but at the end of the day we do write it with others in mind. We know what we've been up to (or does the newsletter remind us of the wonderful month we've just had?).
DO you get a copy of our monthly newsletter?
Do you want it continue?
Is there anything that would make it more enjoyable?
What would make you contribute or give us some feedback?
Any other suggestions?
We're going to give it a few days before we make a final decision, and while we await people's comments.
Then it could be Au-revoir or onwards and upwards...
DO you get a copy of our monthly newsletter?
ReplyDeleteDo you want it continue? Yes, I would like it to continue. I like the idea of condensing your adventures into a nice concise read
Is there anything that would make it more enjoyable? Nope, It does exactly what it says on the tin
What would make you contribute or give us some feedback?
Not sure on this as I already give it!
Oops forgot to add I do get a monthly copy...!
ReplyDeleteAnd also, if it's going to cost you extra to produce it, maybe it IS time to put it to bed
Thank you for your input Mr Brennan. We are generally getting good feedback. People on the whole want it to continue. There have been no 'nos' only well if you're fed up with all the hard work' type responses. It looks like it will get a reprieve. All I have to do now is source a cheaper desktop Publishing package that I like. I think it may be time to revamp the layout or something. I have found Published at just under a hundred dollars, with a month's trial. perhaps I'll go for the trail and see what else is out thee too.
Deleteand if I could find a secretary .. (TEE HEE) am also looking into voice type recognition software that I can use on blogs to save m e typing so much.
Can't you use voice typing on the S3?
ReplyDeleteI can yes, and it's amazing - but I use the desktop PC for the Newsletter, and want to start doing it on the Laptop. need to get it on here so I can sit outside and write.
