Bombay Palace

Sunday night we went out to a new Indian restaurant (only open just over two weeks) in Castelldefels, just up the coast from here.

It is called the Bombay Palace, and I must say we had what was probably the best Indian food in Spain since we moved here.

We chose from the menu of the day at €14.50 each, with three courses (all served at the same time, as requested), and shared the feast between us. Our meal included Begen Pefkora (spiced aubergine in batter), vegetable samosas, Dal makhini (curried lentils), Saag chana (spinach with chick peas), vegetable biryani and a cheesy Naan. with wine water and a free chupito at the end.

The service was friendly and efficient, but not invasive. The place was well decorated and comfortable, with clean loos (apparently this is an important feature for some!). Throughout the meal there was background Indian music (a bit of this and that and some bangra), with low lighting and even a disco ball effect.

The only thing that is annoying is where it is (Castelldefels) as we have to pay the tolls to get there! Otherwise it's location is ideal with ample parking outside and across the road.

TulStig star rating for eating out 4.5 stars out of five!

We will be back, and hope it gets busy - the place was pretty much deserted when we were in there, but if was Sunday -or it may go the way of others we have patronised disappearing in a few months :-(

If you're going grab a discount voucher as you go in for an extra 10% off the bill! And if you want company let us know :-)
